You should have demat account in market which can easily be opened by any broker.
Demat account number is quoted for all transactions to enable electronic settlements of trades to take place. Every shareholder will have a Dematerialized account for the purpose of transacting. Access to the Dematerialized account requires an internet password and a transaction password.
The different types of documents required for opening a Demat account are:
- Proof of Identity (POI) ( Eg.: Driving license)
- Proof of Address (POA) ( Eg.: Passport)
- Proof of Income (For trading in derivatives such as F&O) ( Eg.: Copy of ITR Acknowledgement)
- Proof of Bank Account ( Eg.: Cancelled cheque)
- PAN Card.
